Our Story

Ernest Shackleton

In 1914, Ernest Shackleton set out to cross Antarctica from sea to sea aboard the mighty Endurance.

The Endurance ship was touted as one of the best built ships of its time. Unfortunately, the Endurance got stuck in ice, but the real story was the incredible journey Shackleton went on to save all his men.

Endurance English is dedicated to mentoring and raising future leaders, much like Shackleton and his heroic vision and journey.

Endurance English started out as an after-school program helping middle school and high school students to excel in their English language abilities. Our teachers realized some important missing details for many of our students and, as a result, have now extended our reach to elementary-school students.

With over 15 years of experience, we have devised a new and innovative program that uses multimedia and the power of Ted.com and their focus on great public speaking. We realize that this is a vital skill for early learners, empowering them in a way that will change their lives, and ease them into their middle school and high school years.

Our program has extended to include 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Our vision is to give our students a dynamic classroom and to keep our students sharp. We believe that a 4-hour-a-week course will keep our students focused, energetic, and, most importantly, excited to learn.

Come aboard and join our amazing community.

Endurance English Level System

CEFR Levels

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, often referred to as CEFR or CEFRL, is an international standard for working out your ability within a language. It was established by the Council of Europe and aims to validate language ability.

The six levels within the CEFR are A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2. With these levels, you can easily work out your ability in around 40 different languages.

The levels are often used casually by language learners to explain their ability at speaking, reading, writing and understanding a language. But there are also exams and certificates available to those who want to make their level official.
